The Australian Team has a point to prove with South Africa touring for a three match test series at The Gabba, Adelaide Oval and The WACA. The last time the two teams met, Australia squeezed out a win on South African soil and Sourth African's will be looking to repay the "favour". Australia need to keep the pressure on and regain its test ranking.

With the departure of the South African's we move stright into a three match test series against Sri Lanka which will include the traditional Boxing Day Test at the MCG and the New Years test in Sydney. Interest will also be high for the first set set down for Blundstone Arena, Bellerive Tasmania. Depending on injuries and selections, this home test for Ricky Pointing may see him surpassing Steve Waugh as playing greatest number of tests for Australia.

The Sri Lankan's have a new look team with a number of players not seen in Australia before, so it will be an interesting series as we take stock of the new chums of Sri Lankan cricket. Our last domestic season saw the Australians well and truely on their game giving India a hiding. Can we keep it going..... only time will tell.
